The shoulder trades stability for range of motion: a shallow ball-and-socket joint supported by a cuff of tendons and muscles (the rotator cuff). Shoulder pain commonly comes from two sources — osteoarthritis, the gradual wearing of the joint’s cartilage, and degeneration or tearing of the rotator-cuff tendons. Either can cause pain, weakness, stiffness, and trouble reaching overhead or sleeping on that side.

Regenerative wellness is one of the most actively studied areas in musculoskeletal medicine. It is also one of the most over-marketed, which is exactly why we walk through it slowly and honestly.
The evidence is not the same across every approach or every condition. The honest position is to tell you where the science is stronger and where it is still early.
An honest read of the evidence
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is made from a person’s own blood, has the most published research among regenerative approaches, including studies in some tendon conditions — though results vary and the evidence is not uniform across shoulder problems.
Human tissue-allograft approaches (such as amniotic- and umbilical-derived products) are earlier in their research. Published studies are limited and preliminary, and the field is being investigated in ongoing clinical trials. They should be understood as an emerging area of study, not as established or proven for shoulder conditions.
No regenerative tissue product is FDA-approved to treat, cure, or prevent osteoarthritis, rotator-cuff disease, or any other condition. Published research suggests possibilities that researchers are still studying; it does not establish these products as a proven treatment.
